What is Defenders of the Week?

Inspired by daily and weekly art challenge sites like The Superest, Comic Twart and The Sindiecate, we wanted to develop a themed creative exercise of our own. Thus was born Defenders of the Week, where each week we’ll come up with a new team name for a fake group of heroes—which also serves as the prompt—and during that week we’ll design and feature characters who fit that group based on the team name.

Who are we?

We’re a bunch of writers and artists from different backgrounds, working in or on everything from comics to animation to game design, but most important is that we’re friends and this is a means to keep our creative juices flowing.


Do we take suggestions?

All suggestions for team names/prompts will come solely from us. This is primarily to keep potential rights issues manageable, since everyone will know who created or submitted what.
